Clients and sponsors have widely varying assumptions about how people learn. They have been conditioned by their experiences of education, training and work, yet are often unaware of how deeply their own experience influences their views.

 This pattern will provide guidance on how to unearth - dig into - clients' assumptions about learning, so that your design process can be founded on a common understanding.
